How you’ll be protecting the world:

As a Director of Customer Education at Venafi, you’ll be part of an extremely motivated, dedicated, and experienced team that protects many of the largest organizations in the world.

Education plays a vital role in the security and management of machines. As the leaders in Machine Identity Management, Venafi is building a world-class education program to grow and enable a network of Machine Identity Management experts.

Venafi has been extremely successful with on-prem software for more than 10 years with >95% retention/renewal rate. We have successfully moved the majority of our licensing to a software subscription model and have recently introduced a SaaS offering.

The Director of Customer Education will create and execute a customer education strategy that is best-in-class. Reporting into Venafi’s Executive VP of Customer Success & Support, you will develop a strategy and eventually hire a team to help execute on that strategy. Together, you will create programs that are effective and engaging, and that showcase the power of the Venafi platform to both customers and prospects.

In this role, you will build a strategy that will bring Machine Identity Management education to a broad audience. The ideal candidate is a proven, effective leader/manager who sets goals, brings out the best in others, and efficiently utilizes resources to achieve success. Should have a strong track-record in learning and customer experience and is equal parts strategist, visionary, and a doer – easily shifting from thought leadership to rolling up your sleeves to engage in hands-on course refinement & publication.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own a strategy to build a world-class Customer Education Program 
  • Deliver a scalable learning experience for a variety of audiences
  • Lead, inspire, manage, and mentor team members
  • Collaborate with multiple departments throughout both the strategic development and execution process 
  • Design and oversee an on-demand education infrastructure - selecting, negotiating, implementing, operationalizing, and maintaining learning management system and additional tech stack needs for education programs
  • Develop a tiered recognition strategy to reward and incentivize learners
  • Facilitate the creation of human-led and virtual instructor-led certification courses
  • Create learning paths and learning objectives for customers
  • Own and evolve the customer education roadmap. Conduct surveys and analyze responses to continually improve training content & delivery
  • Work with Venafi community to create achievement levels (eg. badges) to recognize accomplishment and make it easy for Venafi customers to find skilled resources to hire 
  • Define success metrics and develop ways to track progress against those objectives.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen around program & course pricing & selling where appropriate

 

The ideal Venafi Warrior will be armed with:

  • History of building education programs in a high-growth SaaS environment
  • Demonstrated ability to create and run an externally-focused (customer, partner, etc) education program
  • History thriving in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge and service design experience
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Technical background & experience
  • 8+ years of experience leading an education team
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree
