Snowplow helps data teams to do this, offering a data delivery platform that collects and operationalizes behavioral data, at scale.

It’s an exciting time here at Snowplow. We are actively selling in 14 countries with hundreds of customers and thousands of open-source users; Snowplow is well placed to weather the ongoing economic storm, having recently closed its Series A2 fundraising with Atlantic Bridge and MMC Ventures.

At Snowplow we are on a mission to engage and expand our user community, providing a bridge of communication to understand their needs , and help fulfil them. Our goal? A global, diverse and inclusive network of technologists and data folk who are not just using Snowplow to solve business problems but also participating in our community to personally-develop.

We are looking for a Community Manager to join the Snowplow team to act as the bi-directonal voice of our community, build and manage our community networks and construct our associated programs.

You will not be starting from scratch - Snowplow first launched in 2012 and has since developed a global following around cloud data and open source. Our community is diverse and multifaceted, incorporating different personas, skillsets and geographies: from open-source users to paying customers, data engineers to business analysts, and everything in between.

This role is a rare opportunity to take long-term grassroots adoption and awareness, and fashion it into a global movement around behavioral data.

 

What you will be doing

●  Build a compelling manifesto and strategic plan for the Snowplow community, working closely with key stakeholders including the Snowplow founders, our open-source users and our customers

●  Build deep one-to-one relationships with highly-engaged members of the Snowplow community

●  Design and launch channels, events and campaigns to strengthen and grow the Snowplow community, using a build-measure-learn agile approach

●  Play an active role in adjacent communities (e.g. dbt, Locally Optimistic, Kafka) to support their members on their behavioral data journey and cross-pollinate into our community

●  Hire our first Community Marketing Exec to help execute on your strategic vision for the Snowplow community

●  Partner closely with our Product and Engineering teams ensure to complete strong alignment between our community and open-source ecosystem efforts

●  Work closely with our Education team (planned for early 2021) on tutorials, webinars, and other teaching to help our community to learn new skills and self-actualize

●  Collaborate with our Go-To-Market team to define and track ‘Community Qualified Leads’ and integrate them into our sales funnel

●  Carry out ongoing analysis and reporting of the state of our community.

●  You have hands-on experience.​ You have come from applied roles - perhaps working on data products yourself, working in a devtools ecosystem or contributing to open-source

●  You are an autonomous organizer.​ Able to work independently and construct purpose and meaning from distributed organic networks Key Skills

● Experience of building communities online, ideally in the data space but devtools, infrastructure or other technology communities are also valued.
